While we are all experiencing the impact of COVID-19 on our personal and professional lives, the pandemic has also caused, and continues to inflict, significant economic contraction in the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Member States (MS), including temporary but often extended, closure of borders. With support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), through its Global Programme “Human Mobility in the Context of Climate Change” (GP HMCCC), the OECS Commission sought to explore the implications for human mobility in the event of a hurricane impacting OECS MS during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results of this research are presented in a policy brief and a short movie which seek to better understand the nexus between COVID-19, climate change/hurricane season and human (im)mobility in the OECS region.

We would like to cordially invite you to join us for the launch of the COVID-19 & HMCCC policy brief and movie. The launch will take place on Wednesday, 16th June 2021 from 4-5pm (CEST). The launch will be held virtually using MS Teams platform.

Please register under: event-HMCCC@giz.de.

We’re looking forward to meeting you there!
