The transformation of global agricultural and food systems is a central task of the coming years. Suitable solutions require the integration of as many system components as possible – from food cultivation, processing and trade, through consumers and their behaviour, to the relevant political and social environment. Agroecology is an approach that aims at exactly this – developing sustainable land use and food systems and transforming them towards climate resilience and adaptiveness.
