Training Course “Mainstreaming Ecosystem-based Adaptation into development planning”

GIZ developed this training course in order to enhance capacities among development partner in successfully tapping the potential of ecosystem services for climate change adaptation. It builds on the training courses Integrating Climate Change Adaptation into Development Planning (available on AdaptationCommunity.net) and Integrating Ecosystem Services into Development Planning. The aim of this training is to strengthen the consideration and selection of EbA measures as part of an overall adaptation strategy, and to enhance capacities among development actors and partner institutions in this regard.

The training has been designed for practitioners:

  • Government planners, and policy-makers from sector ministries and agencies
  • NGO and civil society representatives
  • Researchers and academics from universities and research institutes
  • Technical staff from development projects and programmes

Content:

With four core modules guiding through the application in each stage of the EbA mainstreaming cycle and variety of complementary sessions, this course is flexibly adaptable to participant’s specific needs.

The training is available upon demand in English and Spanish.

  • Apr 06, 2019 Four Country Case Studies were developed on the national adaptation planning (NAP) process in selected countries. The purpose of this series is to provide an update on the current NAP process, showing first lessons learned and giving an outlook on the next steps to be taken in the iterative NAP process, considering how it contributes to reaching the countries´ adaptation goals. The case studies shall furthermore serve the purpose of peer learning to countries that are planning or just starting the NAP process.
