This guide for policy-makers and technical experts provides orientation for the development of (sub-)national adaptation M&E systems. In order to be able to confirm that adaptation goals set out in the NDCs have been achieved, or also to identify gaps still to be filled, implemented adaptation measures and their impacts need to be monitored and evaluated for their efficacy and effectiveness. Taking a step-by-step approach, the guide provides advice on the purpose, design, operationalisation, and use of results of various M&E of adaptation. It is suitable for the development of M&E systems at both national and sub-national level(s).
