Our publication ‘Learning to live with climate change’ is now available in three languages!

Over the past 6 years, the Global Programme “Human Mobility in the Context of Climate Change” has been tackling challenges where the impacts of climate change are increasingly threatening livelihoods of people worldwide. The Global Programme works actively in regions like the Pacific Islands, the Caribbean, East Africa and in the Philippines. Read more about some individual stories and how the Programme has collaborated with multiple partners to address climate-induced migration.

2026: A Critical Year for Climate Adaptation

COP30 delivered two signals that frame the outlook for 2026: first, the political commitment to significantly scale up adaptation finance under the new collective quantified goal; second, the adoption of the Belém Indicators for the Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA). While these outcomes marked progress, they also left open questions around implementation, comparability and support for countries with limited capacities. Against this backdrop, 2026 will be decisive in determining whether adaptation ambition translate into tangible resilience gains worldwide and particularly in the Global South.
