Utooni has provided capacity building measures to several thousand farmers to date to foster climate-resilient agriculture – this includes the construction of sand dams and wells, conservation agriculture, and food forests, among other things.
Utooni fosters climate-smart agriculture activities including conservation agriculture, agroforestry, fodder establishment and preservation, food forests, construction of sand dams and shallow wells, as well as capacity building.
Through sustainable farming practices and increased resilience to water stress through sand dam, tank, and shallow well construction, food security is improved, and sustainable livelihoods fostered in the face of climate change.
Targets communities living in ASAL regions and especially the vulnerable women.
