Human Mobility, Climate Change and Gender: Compendium of Best Practices, Lessons Learnt and Tools for Pacific Practitioners

This compendium on Human Mobility, Climate Change and Gender provides best practices, lessons learned and tools for Pacific practitioners and was developed as an additional module of the Pacific Gender & Climate Change Toolkit for Practitioners. It includes gender-related issues of human mobility in the context of climate change in the Pacific context, and intends to support climate change practitioners working in national governments, non-governmental organisations and regional or international organisations to integrate gender into all aspects of policy, programming and project work. The document was prepared with the financial support of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), through GIZ’s Global Programme on Human Mobility in the Context of Climate Change (GP HMCCC). The case studies from Kiribati, Tuvalu, Vanuatu and Fiji include best practices and lessons learned and cover the gender dimension of migration, displacement and planned relocation.
