The 2nd Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) Knowledge Day – hosted by GIZ, IUCN, IIED and DIE under the Friends of EbA (FEBA) network – during COP 23 in Bonn focussed on the topic ‘Strengthening Ecosystem-based Adaptation in policy frameworks: Communicating benefits, developing financing strategies’.
During a short panel discussion, speakers from BMUB IKI, UN-Environment, Government of Mexico, Oxford University and The Nature Conservancy Micronesia provided insights and practical experiences for demonstrating EbA benefits and financing options.
A marketplace session – including seven concrete examples and tools from IUCN, IIED, GIZ, RARE, DIE, FEBA and PANORAMA, for assessing, communicating and sharing EbA benefits – served as a platform for further knowledge exchange among participants.
