Briefing: Impact Investing for Climate Change Adaptation, an Introduction

As a result of the recent record-breaking heatwaves, floods, droughts, storms, and wildfires that have occurred in many regions of the world, there is an urgent need to adapt to the effects of climate change. This comes with opportunities for innovation and business opportunities to meet the growing demand for products and services that build resilience and enable adaptation. By 2030, between USD 155 and 330 billion per year will be needed to finance adaptation to climate change impacts. This is why through the Private Adaptation Finance Component and our Private Adaptation Investment Bootcamp (PrivABoo), we aim to mobilize investment in private sector solutions for climate change adaptation and resilience.

Consequently, our work and initiatives seek that investors and impact investment funds have tools and information and receive tailored technical assistance to identify and finance opportunities in the field of climate change adaptation. As part of these efforts, we invite you to check our new briefing on Impact Investing for Climate Change Adaptation: An Introduction, prepared by the consultant Laura Würtenberger.
