GIZ’s Private Adaptation Investment Bootcamp

GIZ’s Private Adaptation Investment Bootcamp addresses the challenges of the private sector in financing and providing adaptation solutions as laid out above by providing individual technical assistance, peer-learning and networking targeting Adaptation SMEs and investors to increase investment attractiveness of private sector business models and enhance private sector capacities to finance and scale business models that enhance resilience and decrease vulnerability of customers.

The project has selected 15 Adaptation SMEs from Kenya and Nigeria who are supported in attracting investment and scaling their business models during the coming two years. This is expected to provide access to new adaptation solutions for about 160,000 people and mobilize at least USD 1,500,000 of private adaptation financing for supported companies. In addition, seven selected impact investors are supported in building a portfolio in the area of climate change adaptation.
