Working with nature to adapt
to a changing climate

The EbA Support Facility

Between 2015 and 2023, the Global Project on ‘Mainstreaming Ecosystem-based Adaptation’ prepared, bundled and shared knowledge around EbA, with the goal to strengthen the ability of decision-makers at international, national and local level to mainstream Ecosystem-based Adaptation into policy and planning processes. This involved a mix of policy advice, capacity development and the establishment of knowledge networks based on practical tools and examples. The number of projects around the world focusing on Nature-based Solutions to adaptation is constantly growing.

Through the EbA Support Facility, projects on EbA or EbA relevant issues had the opportunity to access bespoke technical and strategic guidance and backstopping at critical stages along their planning, implementation and evaluation process with the focus on any of the following topics:

  • Climate Risk Assessment (ENG, ESP, RU)
  • Valuation of EbA measures (ENG, ESP)
  • Monitoring & Evaluation (ENG, ESP)
  • Climate Justice (ENG)

What did the EbA Support Facility offer?

Between 2015 and 2023 we collected, created and bundled expertise on EbA to enable practitioners to use this knowledge base. You would gain support and new ideas from our experts to sustain the respective processes in the long-term. We also offered financial support, if needed.

Why did we offer this?

As a global project on Mainstreaming EbA, it was our interest in making implementation as easy for you as possible. We considered this as an important part of our work to support you at the current stage of the EbA relevant project. Apart from this, we were not only very curious how the EbA knowledge products could be disseminated, but also how they could be implemented and developed further to best support you.
