A memorable time – the Global Project Mainstreaming EbA is saying goodbye

The GIZ-implemented and IKI-funded Global Project on Mainstreaming Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) is coming to a close by the end of February 2023. The project has been up and running since 2015, and has been key to the establishment of the international EbA Community of Practice.

Functioning as a knowledge hub on the topic of EbA, the project has facilitated various spaces for peer-to-peer exchange and learning such as the international EbA Community of Practice Workshops, the EbA Knowledge Days or many webinars, which are now available online on adaptationcommunity.net and a YouTube channel. Furthermore, it developed a number of publications on EbA-related topics and offered individual advice and support to its Community of Practice, for instance through its EbA Support Facility. The project also implemented EbA trainings around the world and recently launched an EbA e-learning course together with IUCN and IISD, which is now available free of charge on the global learning platform edX.org. Finally, the Global Project also managed a theme on the website of the partnership initiative PANORAMA – Solutions for a healthy planet. You can learn more about the work of the Global Project in this short project movie. After the end of the project, its products will remain available under the links provided.

The Global Project would like to express its sincere gratitude for the past years and all the joint learning on EbA that was made possible through the international EbA Community of Practice. The experiences and connections made through the project will live on, and the team is excited to see Nature-based Solutions on adaptation unfold over the coming years.

Should you have any questions about the EbA themes on adaptationcommunity.net, please reach out to the Sector Programme Climate and Climate Policy.
