Training Modules

In this section, you will find the four PrivABoo peer-learning modules on adaptation, which the Core Group SMEs received as part of their training.

Module on Introduction to climate change adaptation and the definition of “Adaptation SMEs”
The training aims to equip adaptation-relevant SMEs with a solid understanding of climate change adaptation, enable them to position their businesses as Adaptation SMEs, and support them in identifying opportunities to strengthen their business models and improve their access to climate adaptation finance.
Module on Measuring and Communicating Adaptation Impacts Workshop for Adaptation SMEs
The aim of this module is to train Adaptation SMEs on how to effectively measure and communicate their climate adaptation actions and impacts, and transmit meaningful adaptation information, tailored to stakeholder interests and needs.
Module on Value Creation through Mainstreaming Gender in Adaptation Finance
The module is dedicated to equipping participants with a foundational understanding of the intersection between gender and climate change and the critical importance of applying a gender lens within adaptation-focused SMEs. They will explore the business and social value of gender-responsive products, services, and workplace practices, learning specific strategies to foster gender inclusivity and equity across their operations and value chains.
Module on Financing Opportunities for Adaptation SMEs
The aim of this module is to equip Adaptation SMEs with the skills to identify suitable financing opportunities, understand investor requirements, and navigate the impact financing ecosystem effectively.

Training Module for Investors

The aim of this module is to equip participants with a hands-on understanding of climate change adaptation, the investment opportunity, and how to integrate adaptation into investment strategies.

Publications and discussion papers

The following documents brings together recent publications on private-sector climate adaptation from the Private Adaptation Finance component of NDC Assist II. It covers topics such as, how businesses can assess climate risks, adapt operations, and access financing or markets for adaptation-oriented products and services. These resources aim to inform stakeholders — especially SMEs, investors, and practitioners — about opportunities and tools for building resilience and sustainable growth under climate change.
